Co-Creating a Transformative Culture for Men’s Ministry
Led by: Dr. Jeff Springer, Men’s Ministry at Wildwood UMC
We know, yet we fail to act. We have seen the data, and the data reveals if a church has less than 39% men in attendance, the local church is on the path to becoming a dying church. So why men’s ministry? It’s good for men. It’s good for families. It’s good for the church. It’s good for the Christian faith. This breakout session will provide a brief overview addressing the essential intentionality needed today, to co-create a transformative culture for “reimagining” Men’s Ministry.
Led by: Rev. Melissa Maher, Conference Director of New Ministries Strategy
Rev. Michael Jarboe, Associate Pastor, Memorial Drive UMC
Fresh Expressions is a Wesleyan Spirit-led movement of new Christian communities that serve the present age with a singular focus: to cultivate communities of love and grace for people neglected by the church. We are seeking to be the church with new people, in new places, and in new ways.
Led by: Mr. Kevin Larson, District Lay Leader
The Lay Leader training will cover all the aspects of being a lay leader in your local church as outlined in the Book of Discipline. We will also look at how this may actually be experienced in your individual environment and how to be effective in this role. While new lay leaders may feel called to this event, existing lay leaders are also invited to share their experience to benefit the wider district UMC connection.
NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED!
